He walks, slightly hunched, head lowered.

He glances at the woman with her child, reluctantly meeting her eye.

Painful memories explode from his mind.

He keeps walking, knowing everything he loves is gone.

  1. Oh how I hate thinking of someone who feels that kind of loss, who wakes every day feeling like a part of them is missing. Your words captured that feeling of longing.
